Great German holidays on a small budget

Every way to save on hotels, car rentals and airfares in the Pacific Northwest and worldwide!

Toronto (April 12, 2002):

Planning a trip to Germany? Do it with the help of the German National Tourist Office's latest tour guides. Five different ones have just been published, all of them chock-a-bloc with useful information, hundreds of colour photographs, maps and detailed descriptions painting pictures of their own.

  • "Great holidays on a small budget" is a 162-page guide to moderately priced accommodations to stay in Germany, for $55 (Euro 40) and less per person per night. This pocket-size brochure presents 300 different places to stay across Germany, each with colour photo, capsule description of amenities and phone, fax, street and e-mail addresses -- a useful companion for individual travellers on their own excursion routes.

  • "Destination Germany, Planning Your Trip" gives readers a general, province-by-province introduction to places to see and things to do when travelling in Germany. Produced for the first time ever specifically for Canada, this 60-page magazine-size guide comes with a directory of Canadian tour operators offering organized trips to Germany.

  • "The Magic of Germanyšs Rivers, 200 Years of German Romanticism on the Rhine" features Germanyšs picturesque river valleys and all the touring to be done in them on foot, by bike, boat, car or train. This 90-page, magazine-size publication also includes sample overnight packages to be booked individually, information on regional food and drink, map locations of Germany's 25 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and much more.

  • "The German City Experience", a 114-page, magazine-size brochure, profiles 50 German cities, including information on the arts, special events, sights, excursions and also on international trade fairs that take place in some of the larger cities. (Booking accommodation during trade fairs can be a challenge at times.) Sample overnight packages to be booked individually are also presented, plus many practical tips.

  • "2002 Germany Holiday Packages" is the latest, 20-page edition of the GNTOšs Canadian reference guide to 245 tour packages to Germany offered this year to Canadians by 45 tour operators. Laid out in table form, it gives a quick overview of each touršs specifics destinations included, duration, mode of travel, type of accommodation and cost, plus the tour operator's coordinates.

For free copies of these tour guides, please contact the German National Tourist Officešs toll-free number, 1-877-315-6237 or send an e-mail to German National Tourist Office. For other information on Germany, please visit GNTO's Web sites: Germany tourism or visits to germany.
