Vancouver, BC (Thursday, April 15, 2010) -- The 8th annual EAT! Vancouver Food + Cooking Festival runs May 28-30, 2010 at the new Vancouver Convention Centre. The festival features hundreds of exhibitors plus Food Network celebrity stars on stage, restaurants, wineries, breweries and tastings galore.

Feature areas include: the new EAT! Garden Pavilion, Food Network Celebrity Stage, Master Chef Black Box Competition, Chocolate Competition, International Culinary Stage, Grapes & Hops Presentation Stage, Wellness Pavilion, Bite of Vancouver Restaurant Pavilion and Dairy Farmers of Canada Cheese Seminars. Mark your calendars, the highly anticipated Eighth Annual EAT! Vancouver Food & Cooking Festival will be held May 28-30, 2010 at the newly built Vancouver Convention Centre and is sure to draw the best of the best in food and cooking.

Visitors will be able to explore, taste, sample and shop from over 250 exhibiting companies showcasing a huge variety of food, beverage and cooking related products.

The Food Network Stage will once again be the main event for visitors, as Food Network hosts entertain visitors with their culinary expertise and humour. The stellar lineup of stars will be announced in the very near future.

Highlights:
Meanwhile, EAT! Vancouver is pleased to announce the appearance of "The Soup Nazi," from the hit TV series Seinfeld. The Soup Nazi (real name Larry Thomas), has gained tremendous popularity for his portrayal of a New York City soup kitchen chef and has been involved in various TV shows, including Arrested Development and Scrubs.

Vancouver’s own Iron Chef America and Food Concept Architect for Cactus Club Restaurants, Chef Rob Feenie will be returning once again to the Food Network Stage to demonstrate quick and easy dishes.

Feenie is often called upon to represent Canada, traveling as an Ambassador for Canadian and British Columbia food products and wines, and sharing Vancouver's culinary talents with the rest of the world.

In addition to the huge variety of products exhibited on the show floor, and cooking celebrities, EAT! Vancouver will feature the following pavilions:

BITE OF VANCOUVER RESTAURANT PAVILION – Sample appetizer portions from a variety of Vancouver restaurants

CITYTV’S MASTER CHEF COMPETITION - Presented by the BC Chefs Association, watch as local chefs compete head to head in a fierce battle to earn the title of CityTV’s Master Chef 2010.

GRAPES AND HOPS PRESENTATION STAGE – Wine and beer experts will provide entertaining and informative seminars and tastings.

WINE, BEER AND SPIRITS PAVILION – Taste and sample unique wine, beer and spirits from BC and beyond, including the very popular Mott’s Clamato Caesar School.

DAIRY FARMER’S OF CANADA CHEESE SEMINARS – Learn and taste the difference between the textures and flavours of Canada’s best cheeses and learn tips to host a wine and cheese party.

WORLD CULINARY TOURISM EXPO – Showcasing the culinary specialties of countries from around the world.

WELLNESS PAVILION – Explore a variety of products to help enhance overall health.

BC CHEF’S ASSOCIATION CULINARY SALON + CHOCOLATE COMPETITION – BC’s finest chefs construct architectural masterpieces from chocolate and prepare dazzling culinary dishes to be judged by members of the BC Chef’s Association.
